On July 23, 2018, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivers his 3rd State of the Nation Address(SONA) at Batasan Pambansa in Quezon City. According to thesummitexpress, the SONA 2018 was delayed for an hour because there was an issue who will be seated beside the president. And it properly started at 5:22
In his speech, President Duterte quoted , "About 2 years ago, I solemnly took my oath as a worker of the national gov't. I was inspired to institute real changes for the greater good of the Filipino people." After he said those words, he said that his war against illegal drugs was far from over and will not stop or slow down in his campaign. He also said that illegal drugs wasted away lives and ruined relationships. He also put his attention to corruption and said that it must be stopped in order to improve his services. He also put his attention to the safety and the well-being of his countrymen and also the bright future of our country. He knows that we worry about our lives today but he is preparing the country for a future with no illegal drugs involved.
To sum it all up, this year’s SONA is really special. It’s all about the future of our country, the safety of our countrymen, and his was against illegal drugs. We should trust in our president more because he is a one of a kind leader and we are blessed enough to have him as our president.
